The relationship between the WWE and Playboy began when Sable appeared on the cover of the April 1999 issue. Within months of the release of the magazine, Sable left the WWE and reappeared on the September cover of the magazine. Shortly after that, a magazine dedicated exclusively to Sable and her two pictorials hit store shelves. This made Sable the first woman in Playboy history to appear on three different magazine covers in one year.In 2003 Laurer started a tumultuous relationship with wrestler Sean Waltman. They were engaged for a period of time, then broke up, then became engaged again, a pattern which continued for the next two years. In 2004, it was claimed that Laurer and Waltman made a sex tape during a vacation to China earlier that year, but Laurer did not go to China with Waltman. Eager for a repeat success, the company that released Paris Hilton's celebrity sex tape obtained the footage, edited it, and released it under the name 1 Night in China. Most reviewer's or people that had seen it and posted their view on the Internet said it was one of the worst X-rated movies they had ever watched
